It all began with Kim...
Kim Sperl, Pastry Chef & Owner of Bella e Dolce, Northern Michigan, has been making wedding cakes and pastries since 1997. She is a Graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Paris, France. Her studies included pastry art and design as well as sugar sculpture and chocolate techniques. In addition to her training at Le Cordon Bleu, Kim has also studied with renowned cake designer and author, Colette Peters of New York, to learn the art of sugar paste flowers and fondant.
Erin Sonntag, Pastry Chef, Owner of Bella e Dolce Cakes, in Southeastern Michigan. Erin attended the Culinary Program at Schoolcraft College and graduated in 2003. Erin's first role with Bella e Dolce was as an intern in 2003 that led to a partnership. Erin has since expanded Bella e Dolce to Southeastern Michigan. Officially in the fall of 2014, Bella e Dolce Cakes, has opened in Walled Lake. In addition to her beautiful and artistic cake design talents, Erin is also the Social Media and technology buff of the team.
Paige Armstrong, Pastry Chef at Bella e Dolce in Northern Michigan. Paige started working with Kim 2011 and fell in love with cake design. She enrolled at the Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, graduated in 2012 and returned to Bella e Dolce in 2013. Paige brings her love of painting and water colors into her cake design.
